www.mypyramid.com
topic: food pyramid
This is a very large site that has many options for exploring nutrition.
i enjoyed reading the content on http://kidshealth.org. They have lots of really neat information for both parents, kids, and teens about health and nutrition. I think that it would be a very helpful website for teachers to use, as well as parents like me!!!

topic: communicable diseases
There were many websites which I thought were quite interesting; however,I really prefered http://www.medicinenet.com immediately after I browsed through the page. This website has a wealth of information about things that pertain to health and as the catch phrase "we bring the doctor's knowledge to you" on the page states, I definitely believe that they bring the doctor to viewers.
www.fightbac.org
topic: bacteria prevention
The first thing that caught my eye on this website was the educator resource icon which provides curriculum for grades K-12. In addition to the materials found in PDF form on their website, a classroom could play games on the website about proper hand washing and how to fight bacteria. Children can become a member of the scrub club and learn about bacteria, how they spread, and two different hand washing songs. I learned on the website that the last food you ate would not be the thing that made you sick because it takes up to eight hours or a couple of days for the bacteria to cause damage to your body. For younger grades learning how to fight bacteria there are thirteen coloring pages that show food safety techniques that can be made into a safety booklet. I immediately printed out the heat it up chart which gives you the proper cooking temperatures for meats, seafood, and casseroles. I like how all the printable downloads can be found under the FightBac tab, so you do not have to go searching for needed materials. I enjoyed this website because it had great resources for the classroom and it made learning fun. It was the most fun I had on a website and I may use it for a future lesson plan.
www.kidshealth.org
Health, Nutrition and Safety
This is also my favorite website. It offers an array of information on health, nutrition and safety topics. I specifically like the kids section of the site, because it is kid-friendly and easy for kids to maneuver through. It provides the basics of topics so that it is easily understandable, but not confusing or overwhelming. Like Sydney mentioned, it also provides useful information for parents and teens!

CH 5
ADHD
I chose this website because I don’t feel enough people take ADHA seriously enough. Some people to this day that I speak with don’t believe it and just believe it is a sign of a bad child or bad parenting. In this site it explains that ADHD is a problem with inattentiveness, over-activity, impulsivity, or a combination. For these problems to be diagnosed as ADHD, they must be out of the normal range for the child's age and development. This site also tells you about preventions measures to take, symptoms to look for and the different kinds of treatments. This site also helps out with explaining where you could go get tested to find out if you or your child had ADHD.
www.mypyramid.org
My favorite website was mypyramid.gov because it had a lot of fun ways for kids to learn about the food pyramid. There were lots of fun games for the kids but there were also ides for teachers to use that get kids interacting with the food pyramid. It's a great way for kids to learn about maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
"Healthy Habits for Life"
www.sesameworkshop.org
Topic: Healthy Habits for Life
This website offers simple strategies to help parents and caregivers install healthy behaviors in children and ensure that they grow into strong adults. Eating habits are shaped between the ages of two and four years old. Once they reach five and if they have no knowledge or guidance of healthy eating, their chances of developing poor nutritional habits and attitudes are greatly increased. There are many materials online including games that allow children to play along with the Sesame Street Muppets. Examples include “anytime foods” with the Cookie Monster and “brush your teeth” with Elmo.
CH. 15
Topic: Vegetarian Information
Website: www.vrg.org
I picked this as my favoite website so far because it gave me a much better idea of what the benifits of eating vegetables and grains are! This website does not preech on being a vegetarian but it gives advantages of it. I think this would be a great website for children to visit as well because they will better undertand how important it is to eat their vegetables and that they can taste good!
http://www.medhelp.org/medical-information/show/1113/Audiology
Topic: Audiology
I liked this website the most because it can address almost anything that has to do with the health of all ages. Therefore, anybody could come to this website and look up something that they would want to be more about. There are eight tabs to help you find the information you need. Some of the tabs are shown as, Forums, Health tools, Health Centers, and Experts. I liked how the website gave the basic definition of Audiology, and then explained how the test is done, and why someone would need that test done.
Kidshealth.org has been my favorite website. It has lots of different information on nearly every thing you can think of. It has different sections for parents and kids which can be very helpful if I student is doing a project or a parent is worried about their kids health. It even has games and printable pages for kids activities.
http://www.stress.org
topic-The American Institute of Stress
I enjoyed this website on stress. I learned a lot about stress and some things you can do to control your daily stress. This is a very large website with a lot of great information.
www.kidapprovedmeals.com
it's a good website where we can find recipes and ideas to make children eat healthy. There is also an explanation on the serving size which is really useful and this website gives you "shopping list" which can help you with the "nutrition budget".
Pat Taylor My favorite website is www.mypyramid.com It list the amounts per serving that we should consume per day.
MY favorite website was www.mypyramid.com
this is because it has so much information on diets and ways to improve it. It even gives tips on foods that can be eaten in place of something else. I also really liked that you can put in what you have eaten and it will give you all the information about your diet and what you need more of or less of.
http://www.foodsafety.gov/poisoning/causes/index.html
Topic: Food-Borne Illnesses
This website shows the different food-borne illnesses that can cause people to become extremely sick or even cause fatalities. The website says that millions of people in the United States get sick from contaminated food every year. The website lists some of the symptoms of food poisoning. The website also explains each one of these food related illnesses and how they are contracted. This website is very helpful and would be a good site to use as a reference when students show symptoms of a food borne illness.
www.ehow.com
topic: illness prevention
This website was my favorite one so far because you could type in any topic to search and articles would show up that were very informational. This website was fun to look at because it also has a side bar that gives you other articles that are similar to the topic you are researching! I very much enjoyed this website! : )
topic: Health Education
This website creates low literacy health education materials to assist children and families in learning about a variety of health related topics. Childrens Health Care Fund develops and supports a National Network of over 22 programs and two affiliates in 15 states and the district of Columbia. These programs provide health care for families who cannot afford health care and that are deemed undeserving of it.
i really like kidshealth.org. the site is user friendly and is broken down into clearly identifyable topics from water safety to nutrition. i also like the fact that it can be used for parents, teachers, and students.

Introducing semi-solid foods
When I think about becoming a mother, I get a little anxious about knowing when to do certain things for my child. One of them is starting them on solid foods at the proper time. This is where this website would be helpful. All infants are different, but this website gives a general idea of when to start, what to feed, and other tips that help along the way. Something that I find very helpful is the fact that it presents a calendar for feeding a baby for the first years of life and what is generally able to be taken in.
There are so many different websites that I have come across that I have just absolutely fell in love with. When I do my searches, I tend to focus on how I could present this information in my classroom. Among many other websites I would have to say that my favorite one is Kidshealth.org. This website is user-friendly. It is great for kids and adults alike. What I liked the most about this site though was the fact that there are different games on here for kids to play, which reinforce what they've learned.
My favorite website was www.mypyramid.org because it is great for both children and adults. My favorite part of the website is that you can put in everything you have eaten for the day and see what you need to eat more or less of and how many calories you have taken in.
www.mypyramid.com
topic: food pyramid
You can do so much with this website may favorite part is looking at what you eat everday and how many nutrients it has. One could relaly change their eating habits by using this website ti be alot healthier.
My favorite website is www.ext.colostate.edu. The reason why I chose this website is because it was not only informative, but it was also very animated and interesting. I feel this is important when trying to capture the attention of children and teens. Hopefully you too will enjoy this webpagel
www.healthtipsforchildren.com
topic: managing obesity
This was my favorite website because not only is it obviously giving tips to children, but it tells the parents what are good snacks and which snacks are potentially risking your children to becoming obese.
